What do I do if I've been denied benefits?
Request reconsideration. Unfortunately about 60% of all applicants nationally are denied benefits initially. However, many of these people ultimately receive benefits. Therefore, if you are disabled but you have been denied benefits, you should contact your social security office and file for reconsideration within 60 days of the day you received your denial notice.
